18. Connecting a KVM switch

To connect a KVM switch:

1. Connect a CAT5 cable to the Server port of the DX Central.

2. Connect the other end of the CAT5 cable to a X-RICC PS/2.

3. Connect the X-RICC to the KVM ports of the KVM switch.

To connect devices to the KVM switch, follow the connection instruction in the User

Guide of the KVM switch.

19. Connecting the DX User to an RS232 Terminal

When there are X-RICCs RS232 in the DX system, you can control them through an

RS232 terminal connected to the DX User units.

When a computer is connected to the DX User, you can control the RS232 servers via

the DX’s Terminal software OR optional RS232 terminal.

Connecting the RS232 terminal

Connect the RS232 terminal to the DX User as illustrated in the figures below.

See Appendix A for the RS232 Terminal Connector pin-out.

20. Power management

You can connect a Power Tower to the DX Central, the DX Users can then power

devices on and off.
